AUBURN — After the first Lake Auburn Half Marathon last fall, Central Maine Conditioning Clinic hosted an event at Lost Valley to celebrate its sponsors, event winners and beneficiaries of the 2012 event.

The marathon was created with a vision of encouraging wellness and fostering collaboration amongst area businesses to be able to give back to deserving local organizations that support our youth. As a result of the success of the inaugural event, $6,500 was presented to several beneficiaries, including New Beginnings, Lewiston High School, Edward Little High School and Trinity Jubilee.

The second annual Lake Auburn Half Marathon presented by Central Maine Conditioning Clinic will be held this year on Sunday, Sept. 8, and will once again offer 5K and half-marathon running events, as well as a non-competitive 5K walk, a fun run for kids and a bike tour around Lake Auburn.

Proceeds from the 2013 event will be used to support initiatives focused on ending hunger in the community. For more information, visit www.lakeauburnhalf.com.
