AUBURN — Rolande Carman Binette, 76, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, April 27, following a short illness.

She was born June 8, 1936, the daughter of William and Laura Pelletier in Lewiston. Rolande was one of seven children growing up in Lewiston’s “Little Canada.” She was educated at St. Peter’s School and graduated from Lewiston High School.

Soon after high school, she married Ronald “Ron” Binette and began building her family. Over the years, Rolande had a variety of small part-time jobs, but was most happy being a homemaker. Rolande could often be heard saying that her greatest accomplishment was her three children, Roger, Irene and Paul.

She is survived by her brothers, Joseph and Robert; and her sister, Gertrude. She will be dearly missed by her sons, Roger Binette and his wife, Brenda, of Auburn, and Paul Binette and his wife, Michelle, of Leeds; and her daughter, Irene St. Pierre and her husband, Raymond, of Lewiston. Rolande was also blessed with seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her twin brother, Roland; her brother, Larry; her sister, Pauline; and her grandson, Paul St. Pierre.

Her family extends special thanks to the wonderful staff at Bolster Heights Health Care in Auburn for making her feel so much at home while in their care.
