May Friendship Day at church

OXFORD — May Friendship Day will be celebrated by Church Women United at 2 p.m. Friday, May 3, at Oxford Congregational Church.

The program is titled “Swinging Wide the Doors of Hospitality.” Refreshments will be served. All are welcome.

World’s Fair clean-up days announced

WATERFORD — Members of Waterford World’s Fair Association are getting the fairgrounds ready for summer events. Ron Hill, superintendent of grounds, is asking all members to help with the clean-up, raking, sweeping, painting.

The first dates are 10 a.m. Sundays, May 5 and 12, and the last day will be June 2. Lunch will be provided. For more information, call Ron at 461-9898.

Community clothing center dates

HARTFORD — The Hartford Community Clothing Center will be open from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturdays, May 4 and 18. The center is located across from the church.

Food bank is open in Sumner

SUMNER — The Sumner Food Bank will be open from 9 a.m. to noon Mondays, May 6 and 20, at the Congregational Church of East Sumner, 50 Main St. It is open the first and third Mondays of each month. For more information, call 388-2610.

WEST PARIS — The food pantry will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, May 7 and 21, at West Paris Baptist Church, 15 Church St. The pantry is open the first and third Tuesday of each month.

Spurrs Corner food pantry hours

OTISFIELD — The food pantry at Spurrs Corner Church, Route 121, will be open Tuesdays, May 7 and 21, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Free money class slated for women

FRYEBURG — A free class, “A Woman’s Guide to Money Matters,” will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, by financial adviser, Karen Fuller of Edward Jones, at the Molly-Ockett Middle School. Call the Adult Education office at 627-4291 to reserve a spot.

SeniorsPlus staff to visit area towns

WEST PARIS — SeniorsPlus, the Area Agency on Aging, will be at the West Paris Library from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, May 8, at the Norway Town Hall from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, and the Rumford Town Office from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, May 22.

Staff will be on hand to answer questions or concerns.

Michaud representative to be in Bethel

BETHEL — Rep. Mike Michaud has announced that his staff will be available to meet with Mainers from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May8,  on issues they are facing with federal agencies and to discuss services available through his office.
