LEWISTON — Mitchell Clyde Thomas, well known pianist/vocalist/songwriter and director/actor at Community Little Theatre, will entertain following the USM Lewiston-Auburn Senior College Sixth Annual Meeting at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, at the college function room 170 on the Westminster Street campus.

Thomas will present a medley of Broadway show tunes and some of his own original songs. He has been entertaining audiences in Maine and around New England for more than 40 years, beginning as a young sidekick to his fiddle-playing grandfather.

For nearly three decades, Thomas has been the director of the Music-Theatre camps for youth at Camp Mechuwana in Winthrop, and for many years he directed children’s choirs at his home church.

He is very active in Lewiston-Auburn’s Community Little Theatre, where he directs some of their shows and has performed in scores of plays/musicals over the past two decades. He most recently directed “Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella,” and he is the director the CLT’s next production, “The Odd Couple,” opening in June.

He is the communications director for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine, and teaches courses in writing and the social sciences at Central Maine Community College. On weekends, Thomas is the choir director and organist at two different churches in Lewiston and Auburn, and over the past 10 years, he is the music director for the New England Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Arrangements for the meeting and entertainment were prepared by Gloria Hall, chair of special events, and assisted by Grace Keene, Karen Bernier, Edith Jordan and Mora LePage. Light refreshments will be served.
