LEWISTON — Eric Soucy’s two-run double in the sixth inning drove in the winning runs as Lewiston rallied for a 9-7 win over Erskine in KVAC baseball action Wednesday.

Michael Wong reached base four times, scored twice and had a two-run double to lead the Blue Devils (7-2). Tom Hird also had two hits, while Brian Wigant tossed 2 2/3 innings to pick up the win in relief.

Spruce Mountain 8, Madison 6

LIVERMORE — Despite a late-game rally by Madison, Spruce Mountain held onto an 8-6 win in an MVC baseball tilt Wednesday.

The Phoenix jumped out to a 2-0 advantage in the first inning before making it 3-0 in the third. Matt Vigue, Scottie Hall and Nate Hamblin all pounded out two hits in a balanced attack.

Rhett Mckenney, Tyler Lawrence, Jack Money and Chase Malloy all belted out two hits for the Bulldogs (4-5).

Edward Little 8, Mt. Ararat 0

TOPSHAM — Brian Crane hurled seven innings of two-hit baseball and received plenty of run support as Edward Little hustled to a 8-0 win over Mt. Ararat in a KVAC baseball tilt Wednesday. Crane helped his own cause with a pair of hits, while Mike Hammond led the Red Eddies (2-7) with three hits and three RBIs. Sean Ford also contributed with three hits in a well-balanced attack.

Mountain Valley 11, Carrabec 1

NORTH ANSON — Adam Volkernick had four RBIs to go along with a near flawless day on the mound as Mountain Valley (4-3) cruised past Carrabec, 11-1. Volkernick smacked a triple and a double as well as only allowing one hit on the night.

Volkernick had ample run support, with Caleb Gauvin driving in three and Josh Rainey slicing three hits. The Falcons’ pitcher recorded 11 Ks on the day and was relieved in the seventh inning by Tim Fitzgerald.

Falmouth 10, Poland 0

FALMOUTH — Connor Murphy threw five, one-hit innings for his second win of the year as Falmouth outscored Poland 10-0 in five innings.

Will D’Agostino, Andrew Emple, and Connor Aube all blasted home runs in the win for the Yachtsmen (7-1). D’Agostino, Emple, and Aube all were repeat hitters. CJ Martin threw for Poland (5-4) and was relieved by Zack Lowe in the fourth.

Dirigo 18, Mt. Abram 4

SALEM — Dirigo was off to a solid start being up 9-4 in the fourth when something ignited in the teams’ bats as the Cougars belted out nine runs, led by Tyler Frost and Chad Snoman, to run away with an 18-4 victory over Mt. Abram.

Mitch Kubesh got the win of the mound for the Cougars (6-2), but had a lot of support in the bullpen from Kaine Hutchins, Tyler Frost, and Chad Snoman. Tyler Frost led the hot-hitting Cougars with a triple and four hits.

Cal Dixon received the loss on the mound for Mt. Abram while Arthur Ryan and Shine White both smacked a double for the Roadrunners (4-4).

Winthrop 7, Wiscasset 1

WISCASSET — Matt Sekerak pitched three-hit baseball through seven innings while assisting himself with two hits and an RBI as Winthrop topped Wiscasset on their home turf, 7-1.

Matt Sekerak recorded his second win of the season to lead the Ramblers to their sixth in seven games. Drew Stratton, Ben Allen, and Dakota Carter all sliced doubles for the Ramblers (7-1).
