Mother’s Day service, brunch

RUMFORD — The Rumford Elks Lodge No. 862 will have their annual Mother’s Day service at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 12, in the lodge room. It will be followed with a brunch consisting of French toast, ham, breakfast souffle muffins, fruit, muffins, coffee, tea and juice.

Breakfast is free for moms, $3 for everyone else.

MEXICO — Rumford High School Class of 1954 will meet for their monthly get together at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, at Dick’s Restaurant. Members and guests welcomed.

Spots open at library yard sale

MEXICO — Want to avoid all the fuss of advertising and holding a yard sale at your house? The Mexico Public Library will host a sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 18, in the area beside and behind the library. In the event of rain, the sale will be held indoors.

In addition to the sale of used books, videos and baked goods, the library extends an invitation to anyone who would like to rent a table/space and sell their own yard sale items. The cost to rent will be $15 or $25 for two tables/spaces. If a vendor provides their own table and is interested in renting a space only, the charge will be $10 per space. All money taken in from a yard sale vendor’s table will go to the vendor.

Spaghetti supper at Sons of Italy

RUMFORD — There will be a spaghetti supper from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at the Sons of Italy Hall in Smith Crossing. They will be serving homemade sauce with meatballs, salad, homemade pastries and rolls.
