AUBURN — Kermit A. Peters, 69, of Sabattus, passed away from cancer on May 12, at the Hospice House.

He was born Sept. 20, 1943, in Presque Isle, to parents, Loomis and Lydia “Tiny” (Howlett) Peters.

Kermit enjoyed spending his time outside, working with his tractor and also spending time in his woodshop.

He worked as a self-employed potato farmer in Presque Isle for 20 years, and retired from Dragon Products after his employment of 30 years.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Peggy; his mother-in-law, Estella Tompkins; his sister-in-law, Ruth and her husband, Dennis Levasseur, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a niece and nephew, Amy Levasseur of

Colorado Springs, Colo., and Adam Levasseur and his family of Castle Rock; his best friend, Emmie; Kermit also leaves behind many cousins, friends, neighbors and coworkers; and special family friends, Rick and Marilyn Nadeau and their daughters, Lindsay and Amanda.

Kermit was predeceased by his parents, Loomis and Lydia “Tiny” (Howlett) Peters.

Kermit’s family would like to extend a special thank-you to Dr. Paul Mailhot and his staff, Dr. Daniel Rausch and his staff, and all the staff at Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
