WALES —   Junior pitcher Jake Martin pitched a five-inning perfect game, striking out eight as Oak Hill trounced Telstar 20-0 in MVC baseball action Friday.

Martin had two hits including a home run to help his pitching cause. Ben Lemieux went 4-for-4 with a single, two doubles and a homerun for the Raiders (6-6).

The Rebels (1-10) catcher, Mike Davis, nearly spoiled Martin’s no hitter with a deep fly ball that was caught.

Hall-Dale 9, Mt. Valley 0

RUMFORD — Ryan Allen of Hall-Dale shut out Mountain Valley on three hits in a 9-0 MVC baseball win Friday.

Colin Lush and Matt Plourde tallied two hits each in the winning effort. Mountain Valley kept the score 5-0 through six innings until the Bulldogs (6-5) exploded for four in the seventh.

Adam Volkernick went four innings for the Falcons (6-5). Sean Murphy smacked the only extra base hit of the game with a double.

Mt. Abram 9, Boothbay 2

SALEM — Jay Chenard struck out nine batters and walked only two as Mt. Abram overwhelmed Boothbay 9-2 in friday MVC baseball action.

Arthur Ryan placed two base hits and drove in two runs for the Roadrunners (4-7). Boothbay stuck with Mt. Abram throughout the game until some untimely errors helped the Roadrunners grab seven runs in the sixth. 

Jacob Ripley took the loss on the mound for the Seahawks (1-11). Cormac Miller mustered two hits for Boothbay in the loss.

St. Dom’s 8, Spruce Mountain 2

AUBURN — Zak Johnson picked up his fifth win of the season on the mound in St. Dom’s 8-2 MVC victory over Spruce Mountain on Friday.

The score stayed 1-1 until the bottom of the fourth, when the bases were loaded due to a walk, a hit batter and a single. Aaron Schmitz then struck a single that cleared the bases, putting the Saints (12-0) up 4-1. Jimmy Theriault added two hits of his own while scoring once.

Payton Kennison took the loss for the Phoenix (7-5), giving up five hits on eight earned runs.

Lawrence 14, Lewiston 2

LEWISTON — Matt Champney smacked a two-run triple during Lawrence’s six-run uprising in the fifth inning as the Bulldogs dismissed Lewiston with a 14-2 victory in a KVAC baseball game Friday.

The game was tied 1-1 when the Bulldogs’ bats came to life in the fifth. Winning pitcher J.T. Nutting, catcher Kyle McLain and T.J. Byshaw each had two hits.

For Lewiston, Tom Hird had two hits and Colt Bernier doubled.

Edward Little 15, Mt. Blue 6

FARMINGTON — Catcher Sean Ford hit for the cycle and drove in two runs as Edward Little used a 17-hit attack to wallop Mt. Blue, 15-6, in a KVAC baseball game Friday.

Ford singled, doubled, tripled and lauched a two-run homer in the second inning when the Red Eddies (5-7) scored four runs. After three innings, EL was on top with a 9-3 lead.

Nate Pushard smacked a two-run double in the sixth inning and eventually drove in five runs. Evan Raymond also doubled for the Eddies. Brandon Dubuc got the win on the mound after relieving Brian Crane in the first inning.

For the Cougars (2-10), Jordan Whitney and Cotton Lawrence each had two hits, and teammate Cam Abbott doubled.

Morse 17, Leavitt 8

TURNER — Morse scored nine runs in the top of the sixth inning to erase a three-run deficit and take control of a 17-8 KVAC baseball win Friday over Leavitt.

Liam McDonough had three hits, including a double, and two RBIs for the Shipbuilders (10-3). Chris Paulus drove in four runs and Zach Holbrook plated three.

Nate Coombs and Tyler Hutchinson each had three hits for Leavitt. (5-7). Hutchinson doubled twice. Coombs and Brian Hiscock both knocked in a pair.

Lacrosse

Oak Hill 7, St. Dom’s 6

AUBURN — Kyle Flaherty led the charge for Oak Hill, netting three goals as Oak Hill snuck past St. Dom’s 7-6 in boys’ lacrosse Friday.

Brian Daniels and Cody Rolston supplied the Raiders (6-3) with two goals each, while Matty Martin had his work cut out for him in net, stopping 16 shots. Oak Hill tallied most of its goals in the second quarter, putting up four. 

Dalton Lorenz landed three goals for the Saints (3-6), while Alex Michaud shut down 14 shots. Matt Chasse had a good all-around day, supplying his team with two assists and one goal in the loss.

Mountain Valley 7, Mt. Blue 6

FARMINGTON —   Austin Glover and Dakota Jacques scored two goals apiece as Mountain Valley scraped by with a 7-6 victory over Mt. Blue in Class B boys’ lacrosse action Friday.

Ryan Rouillard provided most of the offensive prowess for the Cougars (1-8) with a hat trick. Rouillard also had 10 ground balls.

Goalie Coyote Freeman made eight saves for the Falcons (1-8), while goalie Dakota Williams had seven saves for Mt. Blue.
