PARIS — Janet Smith, an independent bookkeeper hired to reconcile the town’s cash reserves, will present her findings to the board Tuesday.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the Town Office.

The board hired Smith in March for $7,500 after Town Manager Amy Bernard told selectmen a verification of the town’s cash on hand hadn’t been completed since June 30, 2011.

An audit of the town’s 2012-13 budget had been suspended in March by auditors due to concerns about the accuracy of cash reconciliations.

At the May 13 meeting, the presentation was postponed due to a personnel issue, Bernard told selectmen.

The board will also consider three applications for nonstandard use of public property. The X-Tra Mile ATV Club has applied to use East Oxford and Parsons roads in June while they repair trails.

The American Legion has applied to have the Memorial Day parade on Main Street, and Linda Carey has applied for a toll booth in front of Moore Park on June 1 to raise money for the Relay for Life.

The board will be discussing the Memorial Day parade the day after the event.

At the May 13 meeting, members of the X-Tra Mile ATV Club complained that they had to submit nonstandard use forms while parade organizers did not. The American Legion has since submitted a form, but selectmen were not able to approve it before the parade.
