Layers of Maine is a new landscape series that features common Maine subjects and locations superimposed on top of one another to build dream-like images. These images evoke a sense of place without requiring the viewer to have had a personal experience with a particular location. The intention of the work is to elicit curiosity while inspiring one to explore the Maine wilderness.

While Ferrero’s primary media of artistic expression is precious metals, jewelry and hollowware, he also works as a painter and ceramic artist. All of his artwork shows a passion for detail, ornamentation, rich color contrasts and a love of finely crafted objects.
