WEST FRYEBURG — Priscilla E. Barton, 73, of West Fryeburg, died June 13, at home, with her family by her side.

She was born Oct. 3, 1939, the daughter of Edward W. and Gladys Stinson Buzzell. She was a lifelong resident of Fryeburg and graduated from Fryeburg Academy.

She and her husband of 43 years, Alfred H. Barton, operated their farm, raising dried beans, squash, pumpkins, apples and more for their farm stand, which was a fall attraction for many families. All were greeted by her bright smile and artfully displayed fall produce.

She was involved in many local groups — Fryeburg Homemakers Extension, Christmas Club, Chatham Prayer Shawl Group, Bradley Park Committee and was a Girl Scout leader when her daughters were younger. She attended North Fryeburg Community Chapel and enjoyed her many friends and family. Priscilla was a talented painter, crafts woman, homemaker and gardener and willing to share her gifts and talents with others, often teaching projects at Extension.

She is survived by two daughters, Victoria Berry of West Fryeburg and Jodie Hesslein and her husband, Gregg, of Brownfield; a brother, Edward C. Buzzell of West Fryeburg; a sister, Sylvia Butt of Camp Ellis; and two granddaughters, Shelby Hesslein and Anna Berry.

She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred, in 2001; and a daughter, Valerie Barton Royer, in 2006.
