PORTLAND – The Portland Pirates announced their first six game dates and promotions of for the 2013-14 regular season Monday by releasing the first half of the 12 games to be played at Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston.
Those games will include the team’s traditional New Year’s Eve contest, complete with what is billed as the largest indoor fireworks display in the northeast.
The Pirates will open their home schedule with Boy Scout Night on Saturday, Oct. 12. It will be their second straight home opener in Lewiston.
One week later, the Pirates will host their seventh-annual Pink in the Rink event for breast cancer awareness at the Colisee on Saturday, Oct. 19, with the Pirates wearing special breast cancer awareness jerseys.
The Pirates will wear Military Appreciation jerseys as they host Military Appreciation Night on Friday, Nov. 8 as part of Veterans’ Day weekend.
Following Military Appreciation Night, the Pirates will host the Word of Life youth event on Friday, Nov. 15 and also will visit Lewiston on Black Friday, Nov. 29.
The Pirates will end 2013 with their 18th-annual New Year’s Eve game on Tuesday, Dec. 31, which will feature the fireworks display after the game.
Four of the announced games will start at 7 p.m. The Nov. 15 game will start at 7:30, and the annual New Year’s Eve game kicks off at 5:30 p.m.
Availability for the November 15th game is limited to Baxter 12 Pack tickets only.
