JACKMAN (AP) — Police say two women were killed in a crash in Maine near the Canadian border.

Lt. Carl Gottardi of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened Wednesday evening near Jackman on a connector road between Route 15 and U.S. 201.

Gottardi told the Morning Sentinel (http://bit.ly/12oKZKx ) that two women died, and two men were seriously injured.

Deputies, state troopers, game wardens and Jackman fire and rescue responded to the crash. Further details weren’t immediately available.
