1925-2013

HARTFORD — Winston B. Jasper, 87, of Hartford, passed away at home on July 12.

He was born on Dec. 31, 1925, in Auburn, to Walter and Marguerite (Blanchard) Jasper.

Winston was a longtime member of the VFW. He enjoyed playing cards, game shows, bird-watching, taking care of his dogs and cats, and especially playing with his great-grandchildren.

Winston worked as a hyster driver for Boise Cascade, formerly known as Oxford Paper Company, retiring in 1985.

He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Joan E. (McKeen) Jasper; two sisters, Arlene Rose and Barbara Harmon; and a brother, Walter Jasper.

Winston is survived by four sons, Daniel, Peter, Timothy and Michael; two daughters, Penny and Patty; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rose Rivers.

At the request of the family, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the Hospice House, 15 Strawberry Ave., Lewiston, ME 04240.
