INDUSTRY — The Industry Fire Department has canceled their annual fireworks show for this year.

Originally planned for July 6, the fireworks were postponed earlier this month due to the wet conditions of the field where the event was to be held.

The intent was to plan for a show on Labor Day weekend, but the conditions of Wing’s Field on Route 148 near the fire station have not improved much with recent rains this month.

Weather conditions have hampered the ability to hay the farm field and the fire department does not want to damage the field.

The department will honor any gate passes or VIP tickets acquired for this year during next year’s show.

The annual Independence Day fireworks is a fundraiser for the department.
