AUBURN — A single-vehicle crash on Center Street sent the driver to a hospital Friday afternoon.

A man was headed north near Lake Auburn when he apparently didn’t see a vehicle stopped by a driver making a left turn into the Lake Auburn turnaround, witnesses said.

They said the man swerved to miss the stopped vehicle, overcorrected, lost control of the car and hit the guardrail next to the southbound lanes at about 2 p.m. First responders said the man was found slumped over and bleeding.

Auburn police and firefighters diverted traffic from the southbound lane getting the man out of the car.

Further information from police was unavailable Friday.
