AUGUSTA — A 65-year-old Maine man died Tuesday at the scene of a rollover accident on Interstate 95 northbound at Exit 112A.

The victim was identified as William Partridge of Solon, whose family members were notified of his death Tuesday evening, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said.

McCausland said the accident happened shortly before 5 p.m., when the 1977 GMC van the man was driving overturned, coming to a rest on its roof on the exit to Civic Center Drive.

The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was dead when first responders arrived at the scene, McCausland said.

He said there was little traffic disruption as troopers kept the exit open during their accident investigation.
