LEWISTON — The YWCA of Central Maine has openings for preschool children ages 2 ½ to 5 years old.
Trained and compassionate staff engages preschool children in creative learning, whether it is a circle time with the calendar, reading books, counting or concentrating on a teacher designed activity or project.
The program also offers lots of recreational time with swim lessons and fun-time splash in the pool, outside play time, free choice activities and a chance to run and play games in the gym.
There are currently full-time spots available or alternative part-time options for those looking for less expensive or social opportunities for children.
The YWCA of Central Maine also has openings before and after school. The before-school program starts at 7 a.m. until the bus comes to bring them to Martel and Farwell Schools.
The after-school program at the YWCA serves all Lewiston schools except Longley; the Martel School program is located at the school.
The YWCA is a safe and fun environment for children to gain new friendships, receive homework help and enjoy fun and creative activities. On Fridays, the program offers an hour of swim time.
For parents who only need a place for their child on vacations, snow days, holidays or teacher workshop days from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., the Y offers an option for full-day care that includes fun activities and swim time.
This year the Y will offer extended care in the morning from 6:30 to 7 a.m. and from 5:30 to 6 p.m. for an additional fee for all programs. For more information, contact Jessica Richard, child care director, at [email protected] or by calling 795-4050, ext. 104.
