WALES — Voters in RSU 4 have passed a school budget.

With results in from Wales on Wednesday morning, the third proposed 2013-14 budget passed by a total vote of 395-275.

Sabattus voted 175-152 in favor, Litchfield voted 120-61 in favor and Wales voted 100-62 in favor during a referendum Tuesday.

“I’m happy, obviously,” Superintendent Jim Hodgkin said. “It’s time to get it behind us.”

With much of the iPad budget for K-3 cut during this latest budget, Hodgkin said a committee will reconvene to decide whether to spend those remaining funds on a few computers for each class or whether to pick one grade to outfit.

Classes started Wednesday for kindergarten and grades one to nine; those for grades 10-12 begin Thursday. Prekindergarten students will start later in September.
