Originally from Winthrop, Mass., Adamson was inducted into the Winthrop Hall of Fame in its first year of existence. After high school, he attended the University of Wyoming where he anchored the defensive line in 1967’s undefeated season. Wyoming was the number one defense versus the run in all of Divison 1 football.

In 1968 Adamson again led the Cowboys to their first ever Sugar Bowl appearance versus LSU. He was coached by Fritz Shurma of Green Bay Packers fame.

Making the day special were the football alumni from the teams Adamson coached while at Edward Little High School. T-shirts with the Wyoming Cowboy logo were worn by everyone in attendance.

Family members, players and coaches shared stories and remembrances of the fun times they spent with “Big Stevie.”
