ALFRED (AP) — A Saco man already on Maine’s sex offender registry is facing new charges of raping a girl in her early teens after giving her alcohol.

Arthur Grant Jr. has been indicted by a York County grand jury on charges including gross sexual assault; gross sexual assault by employing alcohol; and sexual abuse of a minor.

Authorities said the 43-year-old Grant assaulted the girl, who was 14 or 15 at the time, in Hollis in April.

The Portland Press Herald (http://bit.ly/17JIFxI ) reported that Grant is free on personal recognizance.

He is next expected to appear in court to be arraigned.

Grant’s profile appears on the state sex offender registry for an unlawful sexual contact conviction on a person under 14 in 1999.
