AUBURN — Voters at caucuses across Androscoggin County have elected a new 14-member Budget Committee.

Voting was done at meetings in August and finalized Wednesday by the Androscoggin County Commission.

Two members — one resident and one municipal official — were chosen in each of seven newly created county voting districts.

In District 1, City Councilor Richard Desjardins and Michael Marcotte were elected to represent Lewiston’s downtown. In District 2, which includes the northern part of the city, Nel Anctil and City Councilor Donald D’Auteuil were elected. District 3, which includes the remainder of Lewiston and the towns of Durham and Greene, elected Greene Selectman Anthony Reny and Durham Selectman Jeffrey Wakeman.

District 4, which includes Lisbon, Sabattus and Wales, elected longtime Budget Committee Chairman Michael Bowie of Lisbon and Sabattus Selectman Don Fournier.

District 5, which encompasses Auburn’s downtown, elected City Councilor Tizz Crowley and Andrew Titus. District 6, which includes rural Auburn, Mechanic Falls and Poland, elected Norman Beauparlant of Poland and Mechanic Falls Selectman Nancy Richards.

District 7, which includes Leeds, Livermore, Livermore Falls, Minot and Turner, elected Leeds Selectman Errol Additon and Emily Tuttle of Minot.

The districts and the expanded committee were the result of the new county charter, passed by voters in November 2012.

The group is scheduled to begin its work Oct. 2. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in the County Building’s Law Library.
