ALFRED (AP) — A Turner man has been found guilty of being a client of a fitness instructor who used her Zumba dance studio in Kennebunk as a front for prostitution.

Donald Fortin was convicted Thursday by a York County Superior Court jury of a misdemeanor charge of engaging a prostitute.

The Portland Press Herald (http://bit.ly/18i2AYx ) reported that the 59-year-old Fortin was ordered to pay a $500 fine and $110 in fees.

He was the second person to be tried, and the first convicted, in the scandal that made national headlines.

The first person tried was acquitted.

The Zumba instructor, Alexis Wright, pleaded guilty in March to 14 counts of engaging in prostitution and six other misdemeanors and sentenced to 10 months in jail. She did not testify at Fortin’s trial.
