LISBON FALLS — Jenna Clifford fired one into the back of the net off a crossbar rebound from teammate Renae Samay-Houle, as Lisbon topped Dirigo 1-0 in girls’ MVC soccer action Saturday.

Freshman Alexandra Sult had no small task, making 14 saves on 17 shots for the Greyhounds (3-2). Mariah Lafleur turned back six shots in net for the Cougars (2-2).

Oxford Hills 1, Lawrence 1 (2OT)

PARIS — Oxford Hills and Lawrence scored a goal each, but remained scoreless through two overtimes to finish at a tie 1-1 in girls’ varsity soccer action.

Mikayla Morin scored first, while Sam Bickford made five saves in net for the Vikings (2-0-2). Audri Fortier answered back, scoring three minutes into the second half. Paige Belanger stopped six shots on the day for the Bulldogs (2-2-1).

Mountain Valley 3, Telstar 0

RUMFORD — The Falcons utilized three different scorers, as they flew past Telstar 3-0 in girls’ MVC soccer action.

Kaitlyn Virgin, Ashley Russell and Katie Collette each found the back of the net for Mountain Valley. Karen Flaherty took the win in net, stopping all shots she faced for the shutout. Thya Johnson had a fine day for the Rebels, making 23 saves in net.

Winslow 2, Leavitt 1
TURNER — Calli Lavarnway and Devin Fitzgibbons each scored a goal as Winslow slipped away with a 2-1 victory in a girls’ soccer game Saturday.
Leavitt’s Shannon O’Malley flicked the ball past a defender and chipped the ball over the keeper for her goal.

Field hockey

Lawrence 1, Oxford Hills 0

WATERVILLE — With the score even at half, Julia Lawrence netted the go-ahead goal, to lead Lawrence to a victory over Oxford Hills in varsity field hockey.

Emily Tozier recorded a shut out in net for the Bulldogs (6-1), stopping all seven shots she faced. Shannon Fillebrown made 11 saves in net for the Vikings (5-2).

Bangor 2, Lewiston 1 (2OT)

BANGOR — Carli Poisson connected with Georgia Moir who rattled the go-ahead goal into the back of net in double overtime, as Bangor topped Lewiston 2-1 in varsity field hockey action.

Torrie Nightingale assisted Moir, who scored the first goal for Bangor as well. Cat Stewart turned back 10 shots in goal for the Rams (2-3-1).

Shaima Naji scored on a feed from Jenessa Talarico for the Blue Devils (2-4), while Kaylyn Labonte made seven saves.

Waynflete 3, Gray-New Gloucester 1

GRAY — Harry Baker-Connick launched two shots into the back of the net as Waynflete dismissed Gray-New Gloucester 3-1 in boys’ soccer action.

Henry Cleaves tallied a goal on the day for Flyers, who are unbeaten on the season (4-0). Elyse Bayizere tallied an assist for Waynflete, while Milo Belleau made five saves in net.

Jesse Ricardi scored the lone goal for the Patriots (1-4), while Brendan McNally stopped nine shots.
