BETHEL — The Mahoosuc Land Trust will kick off their Conservation Book Group at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at the Mahoosuc Land Trust Office on 18 Mayville Road.
Development Associate Jolan Ippolito said in a news release that the first discussion book will be “The Changing Nature of the Maine Woods,” written by Andrew Barton, a professor with the University of Maine at Farmington.
Ippolito said that Barton’s book has been described as “a dynamic look at the ever-changing nature of the state’s forests, following their unique evolution over thousands of years.”
On Sunday, Oct. 20, the Mahoosuc Land Trust will be hosting their annual meeting, and Barton will be the featured speaker.
The reading on Oct. 2 will be the first in an ongoing book discussion group that will focus on the literature available that focuses on ecology and land conversation.
Ippolito said in the release that those attending the meeting are invited to bring suggestions for future readings centered around nature and land conservation.
