Lisa Carrier-Cormier, from Lisa’s Barber Shop, writes:

I went to school to cut hair after graduation from high school in 1981. I knew then that I wanted to open my own shop. I got married and had a family (3 kids) and that kind of put a hold on opening my own shop. While my kids were growing up I worked at the Rumford Community Home doing the ladies hair and barbering the men. That continued for 22 years. About five years ago I was given the opportunity to buy out Al’s Barber Shop in Rumford because Al decided it was time for him to retire. My dream came true! I had my own shop! I have since bought my own building and moved my shop into 178 Main St., in Mexico.
