JAY — A Livermore Falls man has been accused of stealing a wallet and then using a credit card he found in it to purchase more than $1,200 in food, gas and other merchandise, police Detective Richard Caton IV said Friday.

Robert T. Judd, 34, was arrested Wednesday on a felony charge of theft and charge by summons on a misdemeanor count of misuse of identification.

The wallet is believed to have been stolen on Oct. 3 at a business in Livermore Falls, Caton said.

After an investigation, Caton said they were able to prove Judd used it by viewing surveillance videos at businesses.

The credit card was used at businesses in Farmington, Jay, Livermore Falls and Wilton, he said.

Judd is being held on $2,500 cash bail at the Franklin County jail in Farmington.

He is expected to go before a judge on Friday.
