AUGUSTA — Beverly Irene (Keller) Beal, 92, a longtime resident of Rangeley, died Monday, Oct. 14, at the Augusta Center for Health and Rehabilitation with family by her side.
She had resided in Rangeley and Farmington and wintered many years in Palm Harbor, Fla., with her late husband, H. M. “Don” Beal. Beverly was born in Augusta, July 2, 1921, the only child of Basil W. and Rosamond M. (Cousins) Keller. She was a 1939 graduate of Cony High School.
She was a secretary in the Rangeley school district for a number of years and later served as town clerk in Rangeley.
Many fond summer memories of the Beal and Hyer families were made at their Beal cottage on Beaver Mountain Lake in Rangeley.
She is survived by her niece, Beverly and Fred Golish of Vermont, and their son, David Russell; two nephews, David and Celeste Hyer of Otisfield, and Alton and Deanne Hyer of Augusta, and their daughters, Beth and Jared Miller, and their children, Nathan and Lauren of Winthrop, and Lisa and Darby Erickson and their daughter, Mallory of Chelsea. She is also survived by Don’s cousin, Frank and Ruth Beal of Wilton and their children and families, Karen of Mapleton, Keith of Waterville and Kevin of Portland.
Beverly was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Henry McDonald Beal, in 2006; and Kenneth of Brewer.
