1925 – 2013
AUBURN — Catherine P. Hayden, 88, formerly of Granite Street, Mexico, died Tuesday, Oct. 22 at the Clover Health Care.
She was born in Mexico, on Aug. 22, 1925, the daughter of Robert and Catherine (Smith) Pratt and graduated from Mexico High School, Class of 1942.
Catherine worked for Oxford Paper Company in Rumford from 1942 to 1959 in the Purchasing Department. She worked for several years for Dr. Dexter Elsemore in Dixfield.
She was a member of the Mexico Congregational Church and a former member and Past Matron of Mt. Zircon Chapter 142, O.E.S.
She was married in October 1953 to Richard W. Tainter, who died in 1956. She was remarried in Mexico on Dec. 12, 1959, to Ernest “Bud” Hayden, who died on Nov. 8, 2001.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews and their families.
