PORTLAND — Gas prices have fallen for the eighth straight week in Maine.
Price-monitoring website MaineGasPrices.com reports in its weekly price survey Monday that the average retail price of gas in Maine stands at $3.44, down 2 cents from last week. The national average fell nearly 6 cents a gallon, to $3.30.
Prices in Maine are now 23 cents lower than a year ago.
The Maine price is based on a survey of more than 1,200 gas stations.
