- Jeremy Richards, right, tightens a handle Tuesday on a voting booth as Corey Murphy, left, waits for him to finish. The two Jay Highway Department workers were setting up voting booths for Election Day, Nov. 5, at a new voting area at the Community Building at Spruce Mountain Middle School in Jay. The booths did not fit through the door and had to be taken apart and reassembled inside. Jay residents will enter the voting area by using the entrance on the side of the building that faces Route 4 and then go through the first doorway on the left. It is where people had previously entered the Spruce Mountain Adult and Community Education Center. Town Clerk Ronda Palmer reminded voters that the last day to get an absentee ballot is Thursday, unless there is a special circumstance.
