PORTLAND — WMTW has been honored with 11 news and creative awards from the Maine Association of Broadcasters. The MAB awards are presented to member stations based on judging results from broadcast associations in other states.
First place was awarded to WMTW in categories that included Best Website, Best Continuing Coverage, Best Election Coverage and Best Weathercast led by chief meteorologist Roger Griswold.
WMTW also picked up achievements in Promotion, Public Affairs, Public Service and Photojournalism. Two stories were also recognized as Best Enterprise and Best Feature, both from the new 5 p.m. anchor team of Tracy Sabol and Steve Minich.
