1923 – 2013
LEWISTON — George Jarvi, 89, of Hartford, died at Central Maine Medical Center on Saturday, Oct. 26.
He was born on Dec. 9, 1923, the son of Matti and Hilma (Perala) Jarvi. George worked at Foster’s in Wilton for many years, and enjoyed rebuilding antique autos and going to car shows.
George was a member of the Antique Engine Association and a former member of the Turner Senior Citizens, as well as a member of the Congregational Church of East Sumner.
He married Gloria Jean Stevens on June 25, 1963, and they celebrated their 50th anniversary this past June. George had unconditional love for his family and cherished them dearly. George will be remembered for his great sense of humor and ability to make friends where ever he went.
George is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years of Hartford; sister-in-law, Geneva Ames of Buxton; and seven nieces and nephews.
