1951 – 2013

JAY — Albert passed away peacefully at home, with his family and friends supporting him, on Thursday, Nov. 7.

He was born in Rumford on Aug. 5, 1951, to Marian L. Turner Arsenault and Albert Arsenault Sr. He graduated from Mexico High School in 1972.

Albert was a Harley enthusiast. He built and repaired motorcycles in his shop, A&J Cycles. He was also a member of the Exiles motorcycle club. He worked for many years as an ironworker/rigger, with several different construction companies across the country.

He was an avid hiker, especially in Acadia National Park, any time of the year. He enjoyed kayaking, fishing and hunting. His greatest joys were his family, puttering and building around the house, and helping anyone who needed it.

On Oct. 12, he participated in the Dempsey Challenge 5k walk. His determination and great need to help others allowed him to raise more than $500.

He is survived by his stepmother, Susan Arsenault, of Canton; his loving wife of 23 years, Jan Arsenault, of Jay; a daughter, Breanne Hewins and husband, Craig, and granddaughters, Delsi and Jarni, all of Fayette; sisters, Ann Shultz and husband, David, of Kennebunkport and Sue Arsenault and husband, Leo, of Mexico; brothers, Robert Arsenault of Peru and Todd Arsenault of Hartford; stepbrothers, Larry Knox of Peru and Brian Knox and wife, Amy, of Peru; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and a stepsister, Betsy Knox.
