CMMC employees plan craft fair
LEWISTON — The 31st annual Central Maine Medical Family Employee Craft Fair is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, on the lower level of the12 High Street medical office building, located next to CMMC.
More than 50 crafters will participate in the event, and crafts will include jewelry, stained glass, pottery, maple syrup, handcrafted soap, real and artificial wreaths, blankets and quilts, knit and crocheted items and Christmas items.
There will also be a selection of baked goods available for purchase.
Families in need are sought
LISBON — Benoit’s Bakery and Wine Cellar, 72 Lisbon St., and MenusInLA.com are seeking families in need to give back to for Thanksgiving.
Those wishing may nominate a family in need by sending a private message to MenusInLA.com on facebook, emailing [email protected], or dropping off or mailing a suggestion to the bakery at 72 Lisbon St., Lisbon, Maine 04250.
People are asked to tell why the family needs help in much detail as they can provide. Five families will be chosen to receive donations like pies, pastries and turkeys and all the fixings. One family will receive a complete Thanksgiving dinner.
The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, Nov. 20. The submissions will be reviewed and winners will be notified on Monday, Nov. 25. Include contact information such as name, phone number, email address and town.
Church providing free meal
NEW GLOUCESTER — The New Gloucester Bible Church will host a free Thanksgiving dinner from noon to 2 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28, at Fellowship Hall. Anyone eating alone, or not able to afford a nice meal is welcome. RSVP by calling Pastor Dan at 926-3140.
Seniors cribbage winners listed
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Lewiston Memorial Armory on Nov. 14 were:
First, Robert Oliver and Don Haley; second, Moe Fournier and Mike Martin; third, Stan Tetenman and Roger Labbe; fourth, Shirley Miller and Gerry Roy; fifth, Terry Chambers and Bob Cielinski.
