CARTHAGE — A fire destroyed a seasonal camp early Wednesday on Route 142, near Webb River and across from the Gobie Road, Carthage fire Chief Dan Skidgell said.
Four firefighters and two trucks responded after a resident called a firefighter to report it, he said.
Skidgell called 911 at about 3:16 a.m. to report the fire when he arrived at the scene. “It was completely gone” when firefighters arrived, he said.
Firefighters believe the cause of the fire was electrical, Skidgell said.
The camp is owned by Frank Haines of Farmington and Shawn Haines.
There was no insurance, Skidgell said.
