PORTLAND — Cheverus High School presented undergraduate awards and honors in October, including: 

College book awards: John J. Flaherty Prize in Classics, the Dartmouth College Book Award and the Phi Beta Kappa Association of Maine Academic Achievement Award, Alexandra Logan of Brunswick; Regis College Book Award, Brittany Bell of Lewiston.

National Merit Scholarship award: National Merit Scholarship Program letter of commendation for outstanding performance on PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test in 2012, Sara Hoffmann of Raymond.

Bronze certificates (highest grade point average in one class): Sophomore Bailey Small of Gray, Algebra I; junior Kaitlyn Dostie of Raymond, History II, with honors; junior Kyle Severance of Gray, Spanish II, with honors; senior Riley Archer of Gray, Spanish III; senior Greg Grinnell of Bridgton, History III.

Silver certificates (highest gpa in two classes): Junior Kevin Deng of Bridgton, Biology and Pre-Calculus, with honors; junior Michael Jones of Gray, English II, Geometry; senior Brittany Bell of Lewiston, Algebra II and Chemistry.

Gold Certificates (highest gpa in three or more classes): Senior Alexandra Logan of Brunswick, Algebra II, Latin IV, with honors, Theology III.
