1937 – 2013

LEWISTON — Marlene Violette passed away Friday, Dec. 6, in Lewiston.

She was born in Lewiston on March 13, 1937, to Antoinette Duquette and Merton Waterhouse. Marlene graduated from Lawrence High School in 1955, where she enjoyed cheerleading and being a good friend to many.

She married Conrad Violette in 1957 in Waterville; the couple recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.

Marlene was the proprietor of Marlene’s Gift Shop in Lewiston, a dream for which she had always strived and one she made happen.

She will be missed by her husband; two daughters, Stephanie Violette and Michelle Olson; grandsons, Tyler and Elijah Olson; a brother, Terry Waterhouse; and sisters, Dee Ann Andreu and Janis McAvoy. Marlene’s many friends will miss her as a formidable poker player and someone whom they could always count on to be there for them.
