Fish chowder luncheon Dec. 20

FARMINGTON — The Fairbanks Union Church will hold a fish chowder luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20.

The luncheon includes chowder, biscuit, pickles, cheese, pumpkin pie and cream, salt pork and coffee/tea beverages.

The donation for the luncheon is $6. The luncheons are held on the third Friday of the month.

Community Christmas celebration

FAYETTE — A community Christmas celebration hosted by Fayette Baptist Church will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at Fayette Central School.

All are welcome; admission is free.

A traditional ham dinner will be served, with homemade rolls and assorted pies.

Carols and festive music will be performed by Eric Jewett & Family. There will also be an outdoor live Nativity setting.

Candlelight service at Reeds Mill

MADRID — In keeping with a 10-year tradition, Reeds Mill Church on Reeds Mill Road will hold a candlelight Christmas service at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22.

Warmed by the woodstove under the glow of the lit kerosene lamps, worshipers will gather in the historic church to celebrate the Christmas season with the singing of favorite carols and the reading of the Christmas story.
