DIXFIELD — The Ludden Memorial Library will be hosting a Christmas raffle until Dec. 19, where the winner will receive a basket filled with a variety of gift cards and crafts.

Librarian Peggy Malley said that the fundraiser is not an annual event and is dependent on whether or not the library receives any donations from the public.

“This year, we were lucky enough to receive a generous donation of $100 from Applied Technical Services in Rumford,” Malley said. “Using that donation, we were able to put together a Christmas basket with all kinds of things inside.”

Among the items being offered in the basket includes a $30 Hannaford’s gift card, a “Taste of Home Christmas” cookbook, two coffee mugs, a pair of hand-knit slippers, a book of Christmas stories penned by popular authors, specialty tea and a $10 gift card from Mrs. B’s Village Store in Peru.

Malley said that tickets for the baskets will be available until 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, and cost $1 each, or $5 for six tickets.

“It’s a very nice basket filled with a little bit of everything,” Malley said. “We’d love to do something like this every year, and hope to be able to do it again next year.”

All money raised from the fundraiser will go toward benefiting future projects of the library.
