RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial for Anthony Mortus, of Rumford, was celebrated at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 19, at Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius–St. John Church, Rumford, with Fr. Greg Dube as celebrant. Altar assistant was Bernard Poirier. Organist was Mark Belanger. Music selections included “Hosea,” “Because the Lord is my Shepherd,” “How Lovely is your Dwelling Place” and “Amazing Grace.” The readings from the Old and New Testaments were proclaimed by Barbara Doherty. Prayers of the Faithful were proclaimed by Fr. Greg Dube. Pallbearers were Jon Kowalzyk, Charlie Kowalzyk, Edward Kowalzyk, Jim Violette, Roland Tardif and Patricia Pineau. Interment in the spring will be conducted with military honors at the Lithuanian Cemetery, Mexico. A reception followed downstairs at the church in the parish hall and served by the Daughters of Isabella. Arrangements were under the care of the Meader & Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford, Maine 04276.
