Poodunck Snowmobile club

DIXFIELD — The Poodunck Snowmobile club will meet at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, on Canton Point Road.

Discussion will be around the Think Snow dance and the blessing of the sleds.

All are welcome.

New Year’s Eve party at Eagles

RUMFORD — A New Year’s Eve party will be held from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, at the Rumford Eagles Hall.

Music will be provided by Wailer.

There will be a light lunch and party favors.

Cost is $15 each and $25 per couple.

Veterans’ advocate schedule

PARIS — Due to the New Year’s holiday, the veterans’ advocate will not be at the Maine Veterans Home on the first Wednesday in January.

Tri Town Seniors meet Jan. 6

JAY — The Tri Town Seniors met at LaFleur’s Restaurant for their annual Christmas party on Dec. 9 with 32 members and three guests present. One special guest was “Santa Claus.”

Louise Parker entertained with Christmas music. A Chinese auction was held and all items were holiday theme.

President Fernande Doiron presented a gift to Pat Couture for her long time help for the group. She also presented a gift to Pat Laverdiere for her work as hospitality chair. Everyone present received a gift and door prizes were awarded.

The next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6. Anyone 55 or over is always welcome to join the group at St. Rose Parish Hall on Church Street on Mondays from September to May. The meeting is at 1P p.m. unless a meal is served.

RUMFORD — On Dec. 8, 15 Red Hat Mommas of Western Maine attended the beautiful Christmas Spectacular at East Auburn Baptist Church.

It was an exceptional show and was enjoyed by all.

Dinner at Chickadee Restaurant in Lewiston followed the show.

There will be no meeting in January.

Spots open on trip to Niagara, Toronto

RUMFORD — The Rumford Senior Center and Anna Shaw will host a trip to Niagara Falls and Toronto from May 18-24.

The trip includes guided tours of Niagara Falls and Toronto, journey to the falls on a “Hornblower Niagara Cruise,” gaming at Fallsview Casino, a visit to Niagara-on-the-Lake and Queen Victoria Park and a visit to Casa Loma castle.
