RUMFORD — The Greater Rumford Community Center will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new fitness center from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1.
Gary Dolloff, chairman of the GRCC’s Board of Directors, said the center is in the former Rumford Senior Center building and has more than 10 machines, including three treadmills, two elliptical machines and “a bunch of free weights.”
“We also have a battling rope, which people have really seemed to like,” Dolloff said. “We will also be doing a giveaway at the ceremony, where anybody who signs up at it will be put in for a drawing.”
Dolloff said River Valley Chamber of Commerce President Janet Brennick will present a check for $5,000 to the GRCC at the ceremony.
