TITUSVILLE, Fla. — William G. Cressey, 88, of Livermore, passed away Saturday, Jan. 4, in Titusville, Fla.

He was born on April 22, 1925, the son of Charles Cressey and Louise Hegenauer Cressey of Livermore. William graduated from Livermore Falls High School and was a World War II Merchant Marine, present at D-Day. He joined the U.S. Army in 1943, was posted to the Pacific and took part in the occupational forces in Japan in 1945.

William was employed by James River and International Paper at the Otis Mill in Livermore Falls. After retirement, William spent 29 years in Florida and Maine, and learned to make a mean apple pie.

William is survived by his wife of 65 years, Janine Dumais Cressey; his sister and husband, Phyllis Cressey Doiron and Richard Doiron of Jay; his son and wife, Mark and Hisako Cressey of Celebration, Fla.; his son, Kirk Cressey of St. Peters, Mo.; and his grandchildren, Kara Cressey of Orlando, Fla., Aric Cressey of Dallas, Texas, and Amber Hollie of Tennessee.
