1932 – 2014

FARMINGTON — Verna Josephine Adams, 81, of Farmington, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 15, at her home.

She was born in Wilton on Dec. 31, 1932, a daughter of Clifford H. and Olive W. (Burbank) Luce, and graduated from local schools. On Jan. 10, 1953, she married Charles Russell Adams in Farmington, where they made their home.

She worked at G.H. Bass in Wilton as a hand-sewer for 26 years. Verna also worked at Forster Manufacturing in East Wilton and Livermore Falls Shoe.

Verna was a private woman whose main objective in life was to be able to provide and care for her family.

She is survived by four children, Charlene Thompson of Farmington, Lawrence “Larry” Adams of Rome, Gailene Dyer and her husband, Ron, and Terry Adams of Farmington; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Charles, on June 9, 1996; and a son, Brent R. Adams, on Dec. 13, 2010.
