Join KLT for an afternoon of winter fun from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, at the Curtis Homestead Conservation Area in Leeds. Bring cross-country skis, snowshoes and sleds and spend the afternoon exploring the 360-acre conservation property. Hot chocolate and snacks will be served around a bonfire in the field. Additionally, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, in celebration is Great Maine Outdoor Weekend, all are invited to hike or snowshoe the carriage trails of the Holman Conservation Area in Litchfield with Kennebec Land Trust staff and volunteers. Meet at the Melanie Lane trail head off of Upper Pond Road. See www.tklt.org/land/HolmanConservationArea.htm for more information. Feel free to pack a picnic lunch and enjoy an afternoon on the trails. Snow date will be Saturday, Feb. 22. At both events, children’s and adult snowshoes will be available, first come, first served, thanks to Winthrop Plays Outside.
