1929 – 2014

CLEARWATER, Fla. — Joseph “Sunny” Louis Beaulieu, 84, of Lewiston, passed away Friday, Jan. 24.

He was born in Van Buren on Oct. 1, 1929, to parents Levite and Emma Beaulieu.

Sunny enjoyed hunting, fishing and outdoor family activities. He also possessed an artistic side, creating many wonderful gifts for his loved ones. He was an inventor and builder, and enjoyed repairing things that most could not.

Sunny started his work career as a lumberjack in the woods of Maine. He enjoyed a successful career in masonry and worked on many of the landmark buildings throughout New England.

Sunny was a decorated patriot, having served in Korea and earning two Silver Stars for his service. He spoke often of reuniting with his grandson, Beau, who lost his life fighting for his country in Iraq.

He was a loving father and a selfless mentor, always placing others before himself. His legacy will live on through the lives he impacted. He will always be in our memories and prayers.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Juliette; children, Louise Ridley of Manchester, Alan of Kenosha, Wis., Albert of Sidney, Timothy of Scottsdale, Ky., Jesse of Brownville and Lisa Boisvert of Lewiston; Bob St. Amand, who was like a son to him; his younger brother, John, of Connecticut; 19 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
