LEWISTON — Fire destroyed a storage shed and six marijuana plants early Sunday morning, an official said.
The cause of the fire was the “improper method of his growing operation,” fire investigator Paul Ouellette said.
The call came in at 2:22 a.m. Sunday of a shed on fire at 19 Merton Blvd, he said. The 10- by 14-foot structure was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.
It contained personal property and marijuana plants.
“(The owner of the shed) is a licensed user and those were his medical plants,” Ouellette said.
The fire burnt the shed to the ground, according to Ouellette. It also damaged a large treehouse and melted siding on the house. The total damage was about $5,000, he said.
