1910 – 2014

CANTON — Marie Z. LeBlanc, 103, formerly of Waldo Street in Rumford, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 8, at Victorian Villa.

She was born in Rogersville, N.B., Canada, on Oct. 31, 1910, a daughter of Alban and Helene (Hache) LeBlanc.

Marie worked as a live-in housekeeper for most of her life. She began her career taking care of the O’Brien family in Nelson, N.B., Canada. Then upon coming to the United States, she worked for the family of Judge Albert Beliveau and later for the Catholic Church in Rumford and followed the Rev. Sylvio Levesque for 50 years as his live-in housekeeper, retiring at the age of 92.

After retirement she went to live with her sister, Alma Marcoux, in Rumford. The highlight of Marie’s life was a trip to the Vatican to see the Pope.

Surviving are a sister, Regina McGraw of Rogersville, N.B., Canada; a nephew, Gerald Marcoux and wife, Peggy, of Dixfield; and several nieces and nephews in N.B., Canada, Massachusetts and Florida.

She was predeceased by her parents.
