NORWAY — Healthy Oxford Hills, a project of Stephens Memorial Hospital, has announced that applications are now being accepted for a 2014 Work Healthy! Award.
“Work Healthy! began in Oxford County in 2009 to recognize and promote employer supported wellness,” said coordinator Chris Davis. “In 2013 over 30 businesses were recognized for prioritizing and supporting the health and wellness of their employees.”
Creating the right environment, increasing awareness, focusing on illness and injury prevention and decreasing at-risk controllable health behaviors are the cornerstones of Work Healthy! Participating businesses realize that health promotion costs a lot less than illness treatment.
To be eligible for an award, previously awarded businesses and organizations will update their applications, or, if new to the program, will complete a new application. For a 2014 WorkHealthy! application or to reapply, contact Chris Davis at 739-6222 or chris@healthyoxfordhills.org.
